How Many Pickleballs Should You Bring to the Court?
You can technically play with one pickleball. In practice, bringing only one is usually inconvenient.
Casual games: bring at least a few
For a normal recreational session, a small pack is usually enough. Balls can roll onto another court, crack, become difficult to see, or simply get mixed into the group's supply.
Group play: bring more than your personal minimum
Open play and larger groups tend to use more balls because multiple courts may be active and players rotate frequently.
Drilling: quantity matters more
If you are feeding balls for repetitions, a larger supply saves time. The point of drilling is repeated practice, so collecting after every two or three shots breaks the rhythm.
Color matters too
Visibility can vary with court color, lighting, and background. Having more than one color available can be useful when you play in different environments.
Synergy's ALL IN 40 Outdoor Pickleball Balls are sold in four-packs and are available in multiple colors.
